Cookie Policy
What this page covers
This page explains what cookies remedieshealthfitness.com sets, why, and how you can refuse or remove them. It is written to be read, not skimmed past, because on a health site the question of who can see what you read deserves a straight answer. It works together with our Privacy Policy, which describes everything else we do with data.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so that something can be remembered between page views: a preference, a session, or an identifier that a third party uses to recognise the same browser later. Related technologies such as local storage and pixels do similar jobs, and we use the word cookie here to cover all of them.
The three groups we use
1. Strictly necessary
A small number of cookies exist so the site can function at all: remembering your consent choice, keeping basic security features working, and serving pages efficiently through our content delivery network. These do not track you across the web and cannot be turned off from our side, because the site does not work without them. They contain no health information and nothing that identifies you personally.
2. Analytics
Analytics cookies let us count visits, see which articles are read and spot when a page is broken or slow. We read this data in aggregate: as article performance, never as an individual person’s health interests. No analytics profile we hold says anything like “this reader is interested in diabetes”; it says “this article about blood sugar had this many readers”. If you refuse analytics cookies, the site works exactly the same.
3. Advertising
Display advertising funds this site, and advertising networks set cookies to measure ads and to select which ads a browser sees, sometimes based on browsing across many sites. This is the one category where a third party learns something about your visit here, so it deserves the bluntest description: those networks operate under their own privacy policies, we do not send them your reading history ourselves, and you can refuse this entire category. If you do, you will still see ads, but they will be less targeted, and the site will still work.
Your choices
- The consent banner. Where the law requires consent, the banner you see on first visit lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and your choice is remembered. You can change your mind later through the cookie settings link in the site footer.
- Browser settings. Every modern browser lets you block third-party cookies entirely, clear cookies on exit, or delete them at any time. Blocking third-party cookies on a site like this costs you almost nothing.
- Private browsing. If you are reading about something you consider sensitive, a private or incognito window discards cookies when you close it. On a health site we consider it entirely reasonable reader behaviour, and the site works fine that way.
- Industry opt-outs. Major advertising networks offer their own opt-out tools for personalised advertising, which apply across all sites that use them, not just ours.
What we will not do with cookies
We will not use cookies to build a profile of your health interests, we will not sell cookie-derived data about our readers, and we will not add new categories of tracking without updating this page and, where required, asking again through the consent banner. If our advertising or analytics partners change in a way that changes what is collected, this page changes with a dated note.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you believe a cookie on this site is behaving in a way this page does not describe, email support@remedieshealthfitness.com with PRIVACY in the subject. A cookie policy is only worth anything if the site actually matches it, and we treat mismatch reports as bugs to fix, not complaints to file.
